Copyright Act, 1957 and its rules defines Copyright as an exclusive right for creation of intellectual work to perform, communicate, translate, reproduce and adapt, the work to general public and it prevents others from performing, communicating, translating, reproducing and adapting it is called an intellectual property. Copyright is granted to the creator of the Copyright which could be assigned or licensed by the owner of copyright.

There are various documents required to be filed for the application of copyright registration, therefore the initiative of registration is to organize documents. These documents include copies of work, no objection certificate of author, power of attorney, particulars of copyright and details of the applicant.
While preparing application following information should be included:
The application for copyright registration is to be filed along with all required documents with Registrar of Copyright. The prescribed filing fees should be paid with the application.
After successful submission of the application the copyright examiner will examine it. The application shall be accepted or objected within 30 days from the date of filing.
During examination if examiner found any reason to object then it raise objection and invite clarification/resolution of objection. They supply period of 30 days to reply to the copyright objection.
Once the objection is removed or there’s no objection with the appliance the Registrar will register the copyright and issue the registration certificate.
Copyright registration is permanent in nature and is valid for lifetime of the author and sixty years when death of author after it’ll be receptive general public to imitate or reproduce the content freely.

Copyright protection helps the author of the copyright to require proceeding or file suit against infringers in a court and to function prima-facie proof within the court of law.

Application for registration of copyright is filed by the original author/creator or by the authorized agent or by someone related to the author/creator who has obtained ownership rights from the author for the work.

Over the work copyrighted the Registration shall be valid for lifetime of the owner and also 60 years after the death of the owner.
