APPLY FOR SURRENDER OF DIN
Director Identification Number (DIN) refers to a unique Identification Number which is allotted by the Central Government (CG) to an individual who is willing to get appointed as director in an existing director of the company. Keeping DIN is not a one time process but accompanied by compliances and filing of KYC to keep it activated.
If a DIN holder wishes to surrendered a DIN in the case where he neither used the DIN for filing any documents nor gets appointed as director in any company.
PAN card/ Aadhar card/ Passport/ Driving licence/ Voter ID card.
Rent Agreement /Electricity Bill/ Sale Deed/Property Tax receipt.
Director’s Identification Number which is to be surrendered.
Declaration of surrender of DIN on stamped and notarized affidavit.
Collection of all the required documents and relevant information for transfer
Filing of application for surrender of DIN to ROC by filing of e-form along with the required attachments and declaration of surrender of DIN on affidavit.
After filing of e-form and required attachments , the e-form will be scrutinized and the approval shall be given if no objection is raised from the ministry.

Conditions for surrender of DIN are as follows:-
• Applicant has never been appointed as the director of any company.
• Applicant has never used DIN for documents filing.
DIN can be cancelled or deactivated by Central Government under following cases:-
• When DIN is obtained unlawful means.
• When DIN is obtained by furnishing invalid documents.
• When DIN holder is adjudicated as an insolvent.
• When DIN holder is declared as of unsound mind .
• When DIN holder died.
• When DIN of DIN holder is found to be duplicate.
